Product description
400GBASE-DR4 QSFP-DD silicon-photonics transceiver — PAM4, 1310 nm, 500 m, DOM (single-mode, MPO-12).
This 400GBASE-DR4 QSFP-DD module is built on an advanced silicon photonics (SiPh) platform. The SiPh chip integrates numerous active and passive optoelectronic components with 3D packaging and a leading-edge 6 nm DSP, making it a cost-effective, lower-power solution for 400GBASE data centers.
The module reaches up to 500 m over single-mode fiber through an MPO-12 connector and complies with the QSFP-DD MSA, IEEE 802.3bs and 400GAUI-8. The 400G Ethernet signal is carried over four parallel lanes, one wavelength per lane, and the module supports 4×100G breakout to QSFP-DR-100G.

Supply & compliance FAQ
How do the proposed FCC rules on optical transceivers affect availability?
The FCC rulemaking reported in August 2026 is still a draft. As reported, it would apply to new model authorizations, while models already deployed and shipping would continue to be supplied. Current PhoScale shipments are unaffected, and we hold inventory in our US warehouse. We track the rulemaking closely and publish updates on our Insights page.
Can you provide compliance documentation for your transceivers?
Yes. Every SKU ships with per-unit test reports, and compliance documentation (FCC, FDA laser, RoHS) is available on request as part of our ongoing compliance program.
How do you protect buyers against supply-chain disruption?
Three ways: US-warehouse stock for immediate needs, multi-source manufacturing across tier-one Asian production partners, and allocation planning for project and annual-supply customers. See our Supply Assurance page for details.
What lead times should we plan for on 800G and 1.6T optics?
In-stock models ship from our US warehouse immediately. For volume orders, typical lead times are 2–6 weeks depending on model and quantity — submit an RFQ for a confirmed date against current allocation.
