Product description

800GBASE-DR8 LPO (Linear-drive Pluggable Optics) OSFP PAM4 optical transceiver — single-mode fiber, 1310 nm, 500 m, dual MTP/MPO-12 APC, DOM, IHS/finned-top.

Designed for 800GBASE Ethernet, this module supports links of up to 500 m over OS2 single-mode fiber at 1310 nm through dual MTP/MPO-12 APC connectors. It complies with CMIS 5.1, LPO MSA 1.0 and the OSFP MSA, and built-in digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM) provides real-time access to operating parameters.

The LPO transceiver uses a linear architecture — a linear driver on the TX side and a TIA on the RX side — omitting the traditional DSP/CDR ASIC to simplify the signal path and reduce both power consumption and latency, while tolerating a wide range of operating conditions including temperature, humidity and EMI.

Retaining a pluggable design for flexible cabling and maintenance, it employs a silicon photonics PIC for compact, high-speed, ultra-reliable connectivity. The 800G LPO transceiver excels in AI/ML systems and 800G switches that support linear-drive optics.

How do the proposed FCC rules on optical transceivers affect availability?

The FCC rulemaking reported in August 2026 is still a draft. As reported, it would apply to new model authorizations, while models already deployed and shipping would continue to be supplied. Current PhoScale shipments are unaffected, and we hold inventory in our US warehouse. We track the rulemaking closely and publish updates on our Insights page.

Can you provide compliance documentation for your transceivers?

Yes. Every SKU ships with per-unit test reports, and compliance documentation (FCC, FDA laser, RoHS) is available on request as part of our ongoing compliance program.

How do you protect buyers against supply-chain disruption?
